Last days in Seoul and first arrival in Australia

Thursday the 28th, after 2 fine nights, we had to pack our suitcases in the morning, because we were going to the traditional house. We took a cab to take us there. But he took a wrong turn which made us walk up and down a couple of hills. Like the Cauberg with a suitcase, a backpack and a bag on my back. Yes, you could say my own fault, but still! The house was beautiful; one room with heated floors (you would think it's nice, but I was sweating like a pig and couldn't really sleep), a small bathroom connected to it, the doors were wood with paper in between for glass, no lock and thin mats to sleep on. Conclusion: not a succes for me! We went to a palace, called Gyeongbokgung, and it was really pretty. There was also a little show in front of it with the guards. After this we had some coffee with a great macaroon at one of the 20 coffee chains there, a twosome place.
Then off to Insadong, shopping street for souverniers. Dahee met us there for she had school.
After this we went for a massage. It wasn't just laying on a bed and getting a massage. No, first we had to change into other clothes, then we had a fish bath (sooooo strange and I don't know if I liked it), next a tub with purple water where after your masseur dried your feets. I OFCOURSE had a man. We had dinner at come curry place, which was good, but just like everything there TOO MUCH! It kinda looked like amerika. After dinner we walked past the Han Gang (river), through an underground shopping mall, stopped at Dunkin Donuts (jaaaaaa finally found it again) and then we went to the house. I slept AWEFULL! It wasn't comfortable at all and I was awake at 5, and every other hour.
The 29th we got up at 8 and had breakfast. I'll send you a pic, but Dahee said it's what she eats when she's sick and that's what it made me. I got my bags and we went to the airport. Naram's dad brought I to the bus stop. I checked at the airport and it was the first time EVER that I couldn't bring my deodorant. Biatch! I had a quick lunch and went through security. I did have to swallow some tears.
The flight was fine. Apart from certain people who bring tooooo much bags! Ridiculous! I arrived at 5.45 PM Chinese time and had to wait untill 9PM for my next flight.
30th of November my flight arrived on time, so I could immidiately get a train ticket. It was weird, cause the lady at the desk made me get to Southern Cross to catch the bus to Barham. Apparently it goes to the airport, so it was completely unnecessary. I made some pretty video's and pics in the bus (really like on tv) and I'll upload them when I get to an internet cafe. Jolmer, the dad, picked me up at the bus station. At the home I met the kids and the mom. They are nice, kind, enthousiastic kids. The parents are also nice. My presents were a hit, so I scoored some points!! The internet isn't great and it's connected to a .. Skype and uploading pics on the blog isn't going to happen from here. I'll go to an internet cafe asap.
Now I'm going to sleep in the trailer, not the cabin. I haven't figured out how the lights work (later I discovered that the big switch was off).

Hey Lot! Leuk weer iets van je te lezen! Fijn dat alles goed verlopen is en je er nu lekker bent :) Jammer vd internetkwaliteit maar hadden het al een beetje verwacht he. Denk trouwens dat zelf een blogje maken over het leven hier ook geen slecht idee is, dus daar zul je nog van alles over lezen ;) Ik ben heel erg benieuwd hoe je au-pair werk gaat.. ben je deze week begonnen met de kids zegmaar en wat voor een activiteiten doe je dan met ze? Hebben ze je ondertussen al iets van de omgeving laten zien?

Lieve Lotte, leuk om je verhalen te lezen! Logisch dat het moeilijk was om weer afscheid van Naram en Dahee te nemen.
De ontvangst in Barham was heel fijn, dus dat komt wel goed de komende maanden.

Ook al schrijf je nu in het engels, ik kan het toch allemaal volgen hoor.
Fijn dat het gezin enthousiast is. Ik vind het heel knap van je om zoiets helemaal in je eentje te ondernemen (niks voor mij hoor!). Ik ben benieuwd naar je verdere verhalen.
Hier is het sinterklaasfeest volop in gang, dat moet je nu missen, maar jij maakt weer heel veel andere dingen mee.

Wat een ervaringen weer.
Leuk dat je Seoul nog even mee kon pikken en je "vroegere" vriendinnen weer kon zien.
Australië is natuurlijk totaal anders. Maar wat ben je leuk ontvangen, dat geeft je zeker toch een fijn gevoel.
Het zal de eerste dagen nog even wennen zijn tot dat je je draai helemaal gevonden hebt. Maar dat zal wel lukken.

Zo jongedame nu is het werken geblazen met 5 kinderen om je heen. Fijn dat je genoten hebt in Seoul. Jammer dat de laatste nacht minder was. De foto´s krijgen we vast nog wel te zien. En ook je verdere verhalen lezen we vast met regelmaat. De eerste weken zal nog wennen zijn, maar daarna draai jij vast je hand niet meer om voor een wasje of om te koken, autorijden, kinderen verzorgen enz.
In ieder geval succes en veel plezier ,ook met de dieren!!!

je foto's gezien. Ziet er erg natuurlijk uit!! Zit je nu in de caravan of cabin? Die caravan heeft wel een wasbeurt nodig hè? Je woonkamer en zo zien er goed uit. Nog even gezellig maken met je eigen dingetjes.
